Minerals Rock (G3)

In this virtual program students will be challenged with mineral characteristics in this program that rocks!

Rocks and minerals are all around us, isn't that gneiss? Geologists identify minerals through observation and testing. Can you do the same with the minerals we found?

*A mineral chart and mineral cards will be emailed out to registrant, these should be printed out for each student (or groups of students, if desired)

Mummies - Secrets of the Pharaohs 2D

Using archaeological discoveries and genetics data, researchers and explorers piece together clues from mummies to better understand the culture, religion, medicine and daily life of antiquity. Relics and bodies provide a window into the world of the pharaohs and -- by reconstructing the DNA -- scientists hope to better understand present-day genetics and to advance medical treatments.

Join our expert panel to discuss the science behind addiction and recovery.

Volcanoes is the story of earth's creation!

It explores the contribution of volcanoes to the great wildlife ecosystems we have today and their impact on humans and the world we live in.

4.5 billion years ago the first volcanoes on Earth came into existence. Massive volcanic eruptions gave rise to the first islands and continents on our planet during this intense phase. Life began to take hold and thrive within these volcanic landscapes, creating the first ecosystems on Earth.

 

Weather Revealed (G5)

Please Note: This is a 4 week course offered over 4 consecutive Mondays at the same time each week, except the first due to Easter Monday.

In this series of virtual programs, students will become meteorolgists!

Over the course of 4 sessions, students will learn about weather by making observations and using their own instruments! Students create a rain gauge, an anemometer, a barometer, and a wind vane and use them to observe, record, and predict the weather.

Teachers will receive a kit with ping pong balls for anemometers. Teachers will need to provide other materials.

Full of STEAM (Grades 1-3)

Dabble in chemistry, take on a building challenge, and create fun art in this camp that touches on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Campers will participate in a variety of instructor lead and independent challenges that will span many facets of STEAM.
